Commercial restroom urinals: options, features, pros and cons.

Insuring bathroom cleanliness and users health is a fundamental requirement for any commercial restroom. In facilities with a high frequency of use, maintaining adequate hygiene standards is expensive and not always possible, especially when men’s toilets are equipped with traditional ceramic water closets.

The installation of an adequate number of urinals is the solution that guarantees a higher level of hygiene, as you do not come into contact with the ceramic parts and you are not forced to touch any surface that could be contaminated such as closing systems or handles, present in regular toilets, normally closed with a door.

Over the years, the needs of users have changed and it have led to different technical installation options, each with its own pros and cons. Here are some alternatives:

The common acceptance of infrared controls, their proven reliability and the possibility of implementing advanced safety systems have naturally led to their application in appliance of all types, even of urinals.

Our STYLE electronic ceramic urinal, battery operated (item 02524), with its manufactural and functional characteristics, represents the optimal solution for bathrooms intended for men.

The single block structure of this product makes its installation quick and easy, even in the case of small renovations. You only need a  water intake of 1/2″ and a drain nearby: the 02524 battery-operated urinal does not require any electrical development or preview masonry work. The battery and the electronic tap are external to the one piece ceramic urinal and this allow the installation of the system and its routine maintenance without the need to remove the wall-mounted structure.

The infrared sensor is housed in the chromed brass watershed, which is integrated into the ceramic.  There are no visible electrical connections or unsightly piping for the water flow.

The control unit program  guarantees the cleaning of the ceramic through a controlled water flow and it manages an automatic water dispensing 24h after last use. The infrared sensor detects the presence of the user: in case of standing in front of it for at least 10 seconds, it programs a water flush that is carried out only after the user has moved away, avoiding unpleasant splashes of water during use.

The long-lasting lithium battery guarantees operation for long periods of time. If you want to avoid to replace it, you can choose the 02424/R urinal with 230V mains power supply; this means that it requires a nearby connection to the electricity system or rather a development of a built-in piping and a recessed junction box.

To carry out the comparative assessment we must therefore add:
