Water-saving and low-consumption sanitaryware

Last year's events showed us that we are all connected and that our choices have an impact on others. All this makes us reflect on the urgency of environmentally friendly policies and choices to protect our ecosystem, and at Idral we want to contribute by offering low-consumption taps and sanitary fittings to reduce water waste. In addition, a key aspect of economic recovery will be the green economy, which aims to achieve economic growth by improving environmental quality, making processes more efficient, reducing waste and thus lowering costs for businesses and households.

Water wastage in a public building, for example, can be 50% higher than in a house. As users do not suffer direct economic consequences, they are less careful about their behaviour. In a public environment, water consumption per person per day can reach 200 litres, and in hospitals, swimming pools and sports centres, water consumption per person per day can even exceed 500 litres, representing a very significant cost for the management of public and commercial buildings. To solve this problem, Idral offers specific solutions to reduce water consumption and promote water saving.

For example: a traditional manually-operated tap can deliver around 16 litres of water per minute, and is often left running while you soap your hands. Idral's electronic and timed taps consume only 6 litres per minute or less, and thanks to the automatic shut-off, the time required for hand washing drops from 60 to 25 seconds!

How to save water with low-consumption taps and fittings

We can take many measures to reduce water consumption: one very useful one is to replace old equipment with more efficient products. At Idral we offer a wide range of low water consumption solutions.

Compared to the average flow rate of traditional taps of 12-16 litres per minute, Idral's infrared taps are designed to provide 6 litres of water per minute or less. Automatic photocell shut-off eliminates waste. In addition, Idral provides a variety of electronic products, from infrared taps to integral solutions such as the 4ALL series electronic multifunctional basin that integrates water, soap and air dispensing in an antibacterial resin basin structure.

Timed Taps

Most of Idral's timed taps have a capacity of 6 litres per minute and there are products, such as the stainless steel series, that have a lower consumption (5 litres per minute). Another advantage of Idral's taps is that the technical performance can be customised according to the customer's needs, for example by revising the flow rate or opening times.

Low-flush toilets and electronic urinals

Idral's toilets use only 5 litres of water compared to conventional products available on the market that can use more than twice as much. Further savings can be achieved by using electronic urinals that guarantee the aforementioned advantages of the photocell system. Replacing toilets and urinals allows a reduction of at least 20% in water consumption per flush.

Timed shower panels and solar showers

For sports centres and gyms, Idral's time-controlled shower panels are an excellent solution for keeping water consumption under control, thanks to the 15-second timed shut-off at 3 bar (reducible) and the 8 l/min flow rate limiter. For swimming pools and open-air spaces, Idral's solar showers are a very interesting solution because, in addition to being equipped with timed taps, they integrate a solar water heating system, obtaining hot water without any energy consumption.

Water conservation requires awareness and commitment, but every little effort is reflected in a benefit for the planet and a saving for people. It is very important to make changes in our lifestyle to reduce our water consumption and this also involves a new vision in the design of the spaces where we live.
