Taps with photocells for saving water and energy

Compared to conventional mixers and faucets, IDRAL's electronic faucets save, for example, around 5.5 litres of water per handwash, protecting the environment, reducing utility bills and at the same time preserving hygiene, safety and user accessibility. Taps with photocells are equipped with a sensor that, thanks to infrared rays, starts the water jet the moment the hands are placed within its range of action and, conversely, stops it when its presence is no longer detected. This technology reduces water wastage, allowing it to be used only when necessary.

Complying with the European Water Label certification, our electronic taps are equipped with, or prepared for, a flow limiter. Many are also equipped with an anti-blocking system that prevents photocell taps from flowing continuously.

IDRAL's electronic taps can be mains- or battery-operated. In both cases, they do not require much energy to operate, as we use a bistable valve with a power rating of 1.2W, which receives an impulse of only 20 ms, a low energy consumption solution. IDRAL's battery-operated models are equipped with a lithium battery, which, thanks to modern technology, requires little maintenance and has an average service life of 220,000 actuations (on average 2 to 7 years) depending on the frequency of use. Lithium batteries are widely available, convenient and recyclable.

Faucet with sensor for hygiene and user safety

Our electronic faucets comply with hygiene regulations that require plumbing systems to be installed in public places that do not require direct contact with the structure itself. From this point of view, the sensor tap is the ideal solution as it prevents bacterial build-up and avoids direct contact with the sanitary fittings. Furthermore, the activation of the water jet without the need to touch the control allows for greater surface hygiene, especially in busy bathrooms.

If a faucet is not used for prolonged periods of time, the water in the pipes is not renewed, which inevitably encourages the development of bacteria, especially legionella. This is why many of our electronic taps are equipped with an anti-legionella system, which consists of an automatic flush of about 60 seconds every 24 hours after the last use. This ensures that the water does not stagnate, reducing the proliferation of germs.

Reliability and versatility of the electronic faucet

The electronic faucet is specifically designed to withstand intensive use and intentional and unintentional vandalism. The faucets are made of solid chrome-plated brass, with shock-absorbing mechanisms designed to prevent inappropriate use and intentional damage. In addition, for areas that require tamper-proof installations, there are recessed versions with mechanisms that the user cannot access.
