Loulé Market, Portugal

Fountains with a vintage flavour

This year we discovered in a lovely covered market in the Algarve, Portugal, some of our well-loved Artistic Taps (article 005/N-BR), ideal for outdoor use and environments with an antique flavour. These taps were installed on the fountains inside the Loulé municipal market, creating an interesting contrast between the grey of the body and the bronze colour of the tap, giving the space a sophisticated and intriguing appearance.

The building was inaugurated on 27 June 1908 and was built to the design of architect Alfredo Costa Campos, with the aim of offering local residents a centre for the sale of fish, fruit and vegetables. In 2007, it was reopened after extensive restoration work, which allowed it to resume operations in a more modern context and with better hygienic conditions, also thanks to Idral's taps. Today it still retains all its charm and is one of the city's main attractions.

What a nice surprise and source of inspiration! Indeed, 'vintage' continues to be a trend and bronze, when tastefully and strategically incorporated, never goes out of fashion. Idral's Artistici faucets have a brushed bronze finish, are hand-operated, and are fitted with a quick-acting screw that is ideal for outdoor use. The rosette design was developed from antique taps. Unlike chrome-plated taps, these bronze products are warmer and less shiny and can become accessories for spaces with personality. Why not add a bit of 'retro' flavour to your garden or a beautiful antique sink with these beautiful Artistic taps from Idral?
