L'aurora is a day care centre for young people with disabilities that has recently been renovated and extended. The project has had a huge impact since its creation, because it integrates positively into the local structure of services for the disabled and solves the problem of the lack of specific day centres for adolescents, providing a space for 'possible living' and a model of positive interdependence.
The new part of the building includes a changing room, adjacent to the garden and vegetable garden area, rooms for professional activities, and a meeting room that can also be used as a gymnasium, a laundry room and a bathroom for the disabled. The renovated part of the building includes the administrative areas, the reception room, kitchen, dining room, living room, rooms for occupational activities, the medical clinic, changing room, and guest toilets as well as an assisted bathroom.
For the bathrooms used by disabled users, clinic lever taps, mixers with pull-out hand shower, electronic taps, as well as sanitary fittings (washbasins and WCs) and IDRALLIFE accessories were chosen, providing a truly complete solution. Compared to traditional faucets, faucets with a clinical lever are easy to use and accessible, making them very suitable for use in public areas and especially for people with mobility difficulties. Thanks to the longer lever, even for people with reduced mobility, the water supply can be started easily. Another important aspect is the fact that they can be controlled with the elbow, avoiding touching potentially contaminated surfaces with the hands, reducing the risk of cross-contamination.
