Electronic taps

FAQ

What type of battery is used?

Depending on the model, either CRP2 Lithium batteries - 6V or 'AA' alkaline batteries - 1.5V are used. Further information can be found on the data sheets of the individual products.

How long does the battery last?

Duration varies depending on conditions and frequency of use as well as the type of battery used.
In general, it is estimated:

  • CRP2 lithium batteries - 6V approx. 220,000 actuations
  • AA" alkaline batteries - 1.5V approx. 150,000 actuations

What happens when the battery is flat?

In the event of a low battery, the front LED will flash, the tap will then be locked closed. It will then be necessary to replace the battery to restore normal operation.

Is it possible to turn a battery-operated tap into a mains tap? How?

Yes, it is possible by replacing the supplied battery with our 230 V mains power supply, which can be ordered as a spare.

Is it possible to adjust the aperture distance of the sensor? How?

The taps are factory preset and do not require adjustment during installation. To overcome problems due to particular installation conditions, you can recalibrate the sensor by following the video tutorial on our YouTube page.

Do taps powered by a 230V transformer shut off the water supply in the event of a blackout?

Yes, mains taps are supplied with our power supply unit, equipped with an anti-black-out device, which ensures the flow is shut off (ref. standard UNI EN 15091).

Are electronic taps vandal-proof? Why?

The structure of our electronic faucets is made entirely of metal, which allows them to be used intensively in public environments; to prevent flooding attempts, a safety device blocks the faucet after 60sec of continuous dispensing.

Is it possible to change the settings of the electronic series?

The only change possible by the end user is the manual modification of the holding distance, which can be done by reconnecting the power supply. The relevant video illustrating the steps is available on Idral's YouTube page.
Further programming changes will only be possible by means of a special reprogramming remote control, supplied to the service centre.
