Thermostatic taps

FAQ

What do pre-mixed water taps mean?

These are taps that were originally supplied with only one water, where by means of a small thermostatic or mechanical mixer, positioned before the tap supply itself, it is still possible to supply mixed water at a constant temperature. The temperature cannot be changed by the end user.

Can a thermostatic cartridge/mixer be recalibrated?

You can recalibrate it manually with the help of a thermometer.
This should be done if there is a discrepancy between the temperature indicated on the handle and the actual temperature of the water delivered.

The thermostat knob is hard to turn, does it have to be replaced?

It is a good idea to first check the nature of the problem, which often occurs with very limy water where scale and deposits tend to block the cartridge. In such cases, the cartridge can be cleaned in a vinegar bath for a few hours. If the problem persists, the cartridge should be replaced.

Is there a regulation on taps that provides for clinical leverage?

Ministerial Decree 236/89 indicates the use of lever-operated taps as a preference, however, we recommend that you contact the relevant ASL for more specific information on the type of taps to be used.

What is the minimum flow rate and pressure recommended for proper operation of a thermostatic mixer? What is the maximum operating pressure?

For correct operation we recommend pressures between 2 and 5 bar, as balanced as possible on both waters.
The maximum operating pressure is 10 bar, while the minimum flow rates vary depending on the type of fittings installed
